Abstract

This paper aims to explore the author’s educational journey, highlighting her teacher training process within the “Manuel Ascunce Domenech” Pedagogical Detachment at the Field Schools of the Jagüey Grande Citrus Plan. Her formation followed the study-work principle, which involved agricultural labor alongside students, pedagogical preparation for teaching, and the application of acquired knowledge in leading the teaching-learning process at the “First National Congress on Education and Culture” Secondary School in the Countryside (ESBEC). The paper also traces her professional trajectory after graduation, including her work in the upper secondary and higher education levels, as well as her reading promotion activities carried out at the shelter for children without family support in the La Playa neighborhood in the city of Matanzas. The study employs a qualitative methodology consistent with the life history approach as a form of biographical research. It is descriptive and emphasizes the importance of narrating and interpreting the author’s story, focusing on the development and construction of meaning throughout her life. A central feature is the reconstruction and continuity of a guiding thread linking different life experiences over time. The study is supported by an updated bibliography appropriate for this type of research.
