Authors must declare whether the research data supporting the manuscript are available, unavailable, or whether this requirement does not apply due to the nature of the text.
For this scholarly journal, research data are the materials, records, evidence, or inputs that support the results, interpretations, or claims of the manuscript. These are not necessarily identified with the tables, charts, graphs, or figures included in the article—although they are not excluded from them—since such elements are usually a synthesis or representation of a broader dataset. In certain cases, especially in the humanities and social sciences, the data may be incorporated into the text itself through quotations, transcriptions, testimonies, documents, or analyzed corpora.
When the data are deposited in a repository, the persistent access link must be provided, such as a DOI, Handle, or another equivalent identifier. Materials published only on social networks, even academic ones, will not be considered a formal deposit of research data.
The journal recognizes that, in certain cases, data cannot be made public for ethical, legal, confidentiality, protection of individuals or communities, or material impossibility of anonymization reasons. This limitation must be declared and justified by the authors.
However, the public unavailability of the data does not preclude the journal from requesting, during peer review or editorial review, confidential access to original files, supporting records, source documents, or other background materials necessary to verify the academic consistency of the manuscript. The submission of these materials for internal review does not imply their publication, nor does it in itself violate confidentiality; rather, it forms part of the validation procedures proper to scholarly publishing.
The journal does not require the mandatory public opening of research data, but it does promote it and requires that their availability status be expressly declared and that, when appropriate, authors be able to support their claims with the relevant evidence upon editorial request.
