Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between climatic variables and air quality in Bucaramanga, Colombia, a rapidly growing city. The Minitab software was used to conduct factorial analysis and explore how climatic variables, such as temperature, humidity, and solar radiation influence air quality, measured through the concentrations of PM10 and PM2.5. Additionally, the LISREL measurement model was employed to quantify the influence of the latent variable "climatology" on the measurements of observed variables. The analysis suggests that climatic conditions have a measurable impact on air quality in the city. Significant relationships were found between temperature, humidity, and solar radiation with pollutant concentrations. The results highlight the importance of considering climatic factors when analyzing air quality, with significant implications for environmental management and public health in similar urban settings.
