This statement is required when the article has two or more authors.
For each author, at least three contributions made to the manuscript must be indicated in order for that person to be considered an author. In all cases, all persons listed as authors must have definitively approved the version of the manuscript submitted to the journal.
There are three (3) contribution criteria, and authors must have contributed to at least one (1) item under each criterion. A person does not qualify as an author if they do not have a contribution under each of the three criteria.
Where to Add the Statement
It should be placed immediately after the references.
Criteria for Authorship
- Having made substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work, or to the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data; and
- Having participated in drafting the manuscript or in the critical review of its most relevant intellectual content; and
- Having definitively approved the version to be submitted for publication;
To meet criterion 1, select all applicable items from the following list:
- Conceptualization
- Methodology
- Investigation
- Data curation
- Formal analysis
- Validation
To meet criterion 2, select all applicable items from the following list:
- Writing of the original draft
- Review and editing of the writing
To meet criterion 3, it must be expressly indicated that the author approved the version submitted for review:
- Definitive approval of the manuscript submitted to the journal.
How to Comply with the Statement
Write the name of each person listed as an author and, after their name, add the contributions separated by hyphens; remember that at least one contribution from each criterion is required, for a minimum of three contributions.

Definition of Contribution Roles
Conceptualization: Development of the central ideas and definition of the general objectives of the research work.
Methodology: Design and development of the methodological approaches used, as well as the construction of analytical models.
Investigation: Concrete performance of the research work, including experimentation, data collection, or evidence gathering.
Data curation: Technical management of research data: cleaning, annotation, documentation, and preservation, including the code necessary for their interpretation and reuse.
Formal analysis: Application of statistical, mathematical, computational, or other formal techniques to analyze or synthesize the study data.
Validation: Process of verifying results, either as part of the study or as an independent stage, ensuring the reproducibility and consistency of the findings.
Writing of the original draft: Production of the first manuscript of the work, including substantive writing and, when necessary, technical translation.
Review and editing of the writing: Critical review, substantive comments, and correction of the text in its different versions, either before or after publication.
