Following the issues addressed by COPE in the discussion document “Best practices for guest edited collections” (https://doi.org/10.24318/7cKLAia0), published in May 2023, and DOAJ’s new criterion issued in November of the same year, this journal establishes that all content that may derive from special issues or invited content must meet all the acceptance criteria required for regular articles.

It is also established that peer review is the exclusive responsibility of the journal’s editorial team, which will appoint external peer reviewers to carry it out. Special issues or invited content shall be managed in a manner that avoids any conflict of interest.

Guest editors may publish no more than one article within the invited content, and that article must always undergo peer review, just like any ordinary article. This criterion will also be reflected in the journal’s editorial ethics policy.
