Entretextos maintains an editorial openness policy aimed at promoting the participation of external and diverse authors from different institutional, academic, territorial, and disciplinary contexts. This policy seeks to strengthen the journal’s academic plurality, broaden the circulation of knowledge, and prevent practices of editorial endogamy.

For this purpose, the journal will seek to ensure that, in each issue, the proportion of authors external to Universidad de La Guajira is higher than the proportion of authors affiliated with this institution. This criterion will be applied as a measure of editorial transparency, institutional diversity, and strengthening of the academic quality of the publication.

The journal does not establish publication privileges for persons linked to the publisher, its academic units, or its editorial bodies. Every manuscript received will be subject to the same conditions of editorial screening, academic evaluation, ethical requirements, and editorial decision-making, in accordance with the journal’s current policies.

When a member of the journal’s editorial bodies, committees, or teams submits a manuscript, reinforced measures of transparency, conflict of interest management, and external evaluation must be applied. In such cases, the author will not participate in any stage of the management, evaluation, discussion, or editorial decision-making concerning the manuscript.

The journal considers the prevention of editorial endogamy to be part of its commitments to academic integrity, impartial evaluation, institutional diversity, and the development of a scholarly publication open to broad academic communities.
