Abstract

The review explores the intersection between emotions and resistance in the context of extractivism in Chiapas, Mexico. The work highlights how women, through their organization and experiences, confront environmental devastation and the violence that accompanies megaprojects in the Soconusco region. Through an approach that integrates emotional analysis with social and political realities, the author documents life stories that demonstrate how these women transform not only their communities but also political practice itself, by making emotions such as joy, love, and care visible in their struggle. The work, structured in five chapters, emphasizes the importance of the affective dimension in social action and offers a critical reflection on the role of anthropology in scenarios of resistance, violence, and healing, transcending academic boundaries to provide an analysis committed to lived reality.
