Resumen

Analizar y sintetizar la evidencia empírica publicada entre 2020 y 2025 sobre las percepciones de estudiantes y docentes respecto a las modalidades educativa presencial y virtual levadas a cabo durante la pandemia de COVID-19, mediante una revisión de alcance internacional siguiendo los lineamientos metodológicos para estudios de mapeo de evidencia y las directrices PRISMA-ScR para la selección y reporte de resultados. La búsqueda se realizó en las bases de datos Scopus, Web of Science, ProQuest Education y ERIC. Tras la aplicación de criterios de inclusión y exclusión, se seleccionaron 64 artículos para su análisis. Los hallazgos muestran diferencias significativas según los contextos geográficos y socioculturales. En los países hispanohablantes predominó una valoración favorable de la educación presencial, aunque se reconocieron ventajas asociadas a la flexibilidad y accesibilidad de la enseñanza virtual. Por su parte, estudiantes de países como Corea del Sur, Estados Unidos, Bangladesh y Sri Lanka reportaron percepciones más favorables hacia las modalidades virtual e híbrida, destacan aspectos relacionados con la autonomía, la adaptación tecnológica y la continuidad académica. La revisión facilitó identificar que las condiciones de acceso a tecnologías digitales y conectividad continúan siendo determinantes en las experiencias educativas. Se concluye que la educación presencial mantiene una preferencia predominante entre estudiantes y docentes a nivel internacional; sin embargo, las modalidades virtual e híbrida han consolidado oportunidades de innovación educativa que trascienden el contexto de emergencia sanitaria. Los resultados destacan la necesidad de fortalecer las competencias digitales y reducir las limitaciones de acceso tecnológico para garantizar una educación más equitativa y resiliente en escenarios postpandemia.
