Responsabilidad social de la empresa Cerrejón en el departamento de La Guajira

Abstract

This research focuses on interpretive analysis, exposing the most transcendental postulates, findings and conclusions of different investigations, on the Social Responsibility of mining in La Guajira, more precisely in the mining company El Cerrejón. The main objective of this article is to review the state of the art of RS mining in the department. It is concluded that studies or writings about the implementation of SR present different results, which include various positions, both positive and negative. In La Guajira the mining sector has made progress, but urgent measures must be taken to improve and guarantee compliance with the regulations, since the Colombian government has been very flexible in terms of the control of these laws, thus allowing serious impacts on society, culture, environment and economy, which can represent a threat to the planetary sustainability of the inhabitants of the department and the present and future Wayuu communities.
