Main causes of accidentality of work at height in construction companies in Colombia

This article aims to identify the main causes of work accidents at heights construction companies in Colombia, the above in order to discuss and identify the possible measures and strategies necessary to significantly reduce these rates and guarantee the safety and well-being of the workers. Initially, the analysis of the conceptual generalities and a statistical sketch on the incidence that work at height represents in the figures for occupational accidents in Colombia. Then a legal contextualization of the current national norms and standards is carried out, which link the necessary actions to mitigate, prevent and address the occurrence of occupational accidents caused by work at height. Finally, bibliographic references of an investigative nature are analyzed in which their development had the purpose of investigating the causes of work accidents at heights in the construction sector. The above is developed using an informative type of bibliographic methodology, which focuses on showing relevant information from different sources. At the end of this bibliographic review, the possible strategies and tools to reduce these indices are discussed and concluded.
