Abstract

The term Bysinosis derives from the Greek word "byssos" which means flax. Bysinosis is a chronic occupational respiratory disease that is observed among workers exposed to cotton, jute, flax and hemp dust, causing acute and chronic effects, within the Symptoms include coughing, wheezing, chest tightness, phlegm, dyspnea, lung disability among others. According to the symptoms presented, within the medical surveillance it is recommended to carry out diagnostic tests such as: spirometers and x-rays, which determine in what degree of the disease the person is and with respect to these results create recommendations for controls at the source, medium and individual.
